Our Heritage

Tool King was founded in 1976 by Peter and Bjorn Hestad, supplying manufacturers and job shops with tool steels (thus, the name “Tool King”). In 1980 they purchased their first slitting line, satisfying customers’ burgeoning needs for thin and narrow, tight-tolerance coil. Since then, the firm has evolved and expanded into today’s broad range of narrow-coil capabilities. Yet the company remains, heart and soul, a “family” business.
