Alloy Steel contains a high percentage of chromium from less than 10% to more than 25%. There are 3 groups:
- AUSTENITIC – (Non-Magnetic in the annealed condition) contains 16% Chromium and 7% Nickel. These include types 301, 302, 304 and 316.
- FERRITIC – (Magnetic) which contains Chromium only and cannot be hardened by heat treatment. The group includes 430.
- MARTENSITIC – (Magnetic) which contains Chromium and can be hardened by heat-treatment. These include 410 and 420.

Every order ships with full mill test reports (MTRs) and ISO documentation. Domestic melt, DFARS, and Buy America sourcing are available upon request.
What are your minimum order quantities, and do you offer stocking or JIT programs?
Typical minimums begin around 25 lb per size. We also offer stocking and just-in-time (JIT) release scheduling for recurring production requirements.
How are alloy surcharges handled?
